New Orleans Lot
Hurricane winds with floods appeared -
New Orleans's lot - so often feared.
Humanity distorted, drowning, bereft
Black and poor considering theft...
(Lock and load, shoot to kill
Regardless of age, whether crippled or ill).
...Trails of salt from the tears they cried
Will sprinkle the roads when the water's dried.
A change of perspective, a shocking event
Awakens the people - reality's intent?
May gifts of love and compassion's hand
Lift hearts and minds in this distant land.
