       Father
       Father, like a giant tree
Cast shadows that protected me -
But oh, for so long and lovingly!
He's toppled now, from this world gone.
This sudden intense change of scene
From bold strong views of greening leaf
To intense waves of crippling grief
As glaring light so clear and bright
Shines, blindingly, in sight.
That dark shade had in hidden ways
Created wounds and dressed my days.
Released from this, I'm coming to match
The experience of this new light patch.
