She finds inspiration in colour symbolism from different cultural traditions, and is influenced by the Scottish School of painting, with its emphasis on colour, painterliness and still life subjects. "A Brush with Life" is the last in a series of summer exhibitions featuring fine artists working in two dimensions at the Oyster, a new gallery showing fine art and contemporary applied arts by artists and makers from Devon and beyond. The Oyster also provides an ever-changing selection of unusual, unique and original crafts and gifts, jewellery, mirrors, clocks, boxes, vases, and handmade cards, etc., made by regional makers and craftspeople from further afield. |
