Animals: Chanel "CHANEL" is a 10-year-old, grey, Arab cross mare. She was perfectly healthy until her Mum was euthanased in the yard outside her stable in October 1996. Over the next 3 years she developed chronic skin problems, laminitis, and bouts of colic. In the latter part of this period she became increasingly bad-tempered, on 3 occasions breaking her stable door and twice demolishing the walls separating her from the adjacent stall! By August 1999 she was practically impossible to ride. She would lunge forward trying to bite, as she would during grooming and on one occasion panicked so much when she saw the tack that she ended up falling badly in the yard. She was equally aggressive to any other horses that came near and to anyone attempting to approach her stall. Chanel had 1 course of EFT in December 1999. Within 48 hours she was standing to have her rug put on and would quietly wait in the passageway without a head collar. A few more days and she began to wait at the front of her stable, happily greeting equines and people alike! Within a week she was being saddled and ridden without difficulty. Since then Chanel has never looked back - "She's like she was when she was 2 years old, an absolute pleasure!"
